The Problem of Unionism within Private Education during the 20th Century: Hints for a History

This paper intends to fill a gap in the bibliography: it is written with the aim of introducing the main outlines of unionism inside Private Education during the 20th century. It underlines its originality in comparison to unionism in State Education, brings out into the open the main changes since the beginning of the century, and brings to light the existence of a major break which took place after the second World War: An independent unionism won general approval at first, then a confederate unionism took the upper hand.
